W. Huspool's leave expires 6 Dec. (10065 tp.p.). Grant extension for such period, if any, be necessary to enable him to finish the recruiting transfer & Agents 2.7.

Referring to your letter of the 26th ultimo, instructing us to engage 7 Constables for service in the Police Force of Hong Kong, I have the honour to enclose, in original for return, a letter which we have received from Mr Horspool suggesting that the opportunity should be taken for engaging 10 men for the Force, and asking that the allowance to be granted him for Hotel expenses may be increased.
