British Dollar would

not help to afford

ample supply of currency —

nor help changing

gold using Currencies.

It would be costly because it

could not be laid down in the

East or at a

price to hold its own against

Mexicans. There used to be the

way of

Mint buying silver at the price of the day & cost of

cost of minting — then wither

a stock

kept in hand

to be used

month

in mint

at very short notice

without being

able to rely

on whatever price may happen

& minting

the few

times when

available bullion

makes full use of the mint.
