Please see what Mr. Wood says as to M. Chadwick having believed that his post would be worth £400 sterling. In view of par. 8 of his Agreement in 4204/9, he has I think no valid ground of complaint.
On the other hand now that his duties are to be increased, he may fairly be given an increase of pay, especially as a saving accrues from the abolition of Mr Rennie's post?
