Officer Administering the Government to Chief Justice.

No. 152.

Sir,

Government House,

Hong Kong 10th November 1892.

315

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 9th instant, and of the statements which it encloses by Mr. Rahman and Mr. Sales in exculpation of the charges which have been preferred against them.

As these officers have failed to exculpate themselves to my satisfaction, I have to request that Your Honour will be so good as to inform them that the question of their suspension will be brought before the Executive Council on Wednesday next at noon in the Council Chamber, and that they are at liberty, if they so desire, to appear before the Council at that time and defend themselves orally.

I have &c.

(Signed) G. T. M. O'Brien,

Administering the Government.

His Honour,

The Chief Justice.
