During a period of 29 years experience I have rarely seen the price of Mexican Dollars per Oz. rule higher than the price of Bar Silver.
The great scarcity of Mexican Dollars was extremely severe during the whole of the period under review, and they ruled at a premium, such as have rarely been known. The cause of Mexican Dollars being scarce and commanding a heavy premium, viz. the high price of Bar Silver, still continues, as will be seen from the telegram of instant.
Bar Silver of premium could only be obtained at a very high rate from the 12th of July to this date.
