Committee, viz: the Harbour Master, the Honourable Messrs Chater, Keswick, and Whitehead, (unofficial members of the Legislative Council), Mr. Wodehouse, (Police Magistrate), and M. May, (Captain Superintendent of Police), with the Chief Justice as Chairman.
Mr The Chief Justice on his return to the Colony having consented, though with very great reluctance and only at my repeated request, to preside over the Committee, I then made the appointments mentioned in the preceding paragraph.
