entitled to draw their leave salaries and pensions when in England at the rate of 4/2 to the dollar, which has been revised and corrected on the basis of Your Lordship's despatch: No. 230 of the 22nd September last, and to which is appended a note stating that such officers will forfeit this privilege upon obtaining by promotion or otherwise an increase of salary equivalent to not less than 14% beyond what they drew in 1890.

2. The name of Mr. J. H. Watson, Clerk in the Gaol, which was wrongly included in the list which accompanied my despatch No. 928 of the 2nd July last year, has now been omitted, as previous to his transfer from the Police to the Gaol in June 1891 he received an increase of salary in the former department.
