The Honourable the Colonial Secretary,
On reference to paragraph 3 I venture to think that the Comptroller and Auditor General misapprehends the extent to which work is done departmentally. The total amount of labour votes for Public Works Recurrent and Extraordinary wages chargeable is not entirely likely to exceed during the year $2,000. During the current year it amounts, up to the end of May, to $830.57.
To divide at the time of preparing the estimates a sum of $2,000 amongst the several votes as required...
