Nationalization of Meyer Fredericks, a transcript of which accompanied your despatch no. 1350 27th June last.
2. Observe that it is stated in the Attorney General's report on this Ordinance, that M. Fredericks was naturalized in order to enable him to join the Volunteer Force. I am advised that this was not necessary, but that it would have been sufficient if M. Fredericks had taken the oath of allegiance prescribed in the Volunteer Ordinance no. 6 of 1893, without first becoming naturalized.
3. A question was raised in the case of the Straits Settlement Volunteers, predecessor of informed the Governor of that Colony that the Secretary of State for War was conceiving in thinking with reference in that case was strange objection to
