at Dodds Reformatory in propagating sugar cane from seed, and the Committee desire to place on record their sense of the importance of such experiments in connection with the development of the sugar industry in the West Indian Colonies.

The West India Committee also desire to express their thanks to I. R. Bovell Esqre, the Superintendent of the Botanical Station at Dodds Reformatory, Barbados, for his able co-operation in the above experiments, and for the manner in which he has devoted himself to a matter of much importance to the sugar industry.
