In view of recent events these comments are not only very interesting but instructive. It would appear from this paper that the value of the Trade of Hongkong with China in 1892 was in excess of that in 1891 by over Five Million Taels. "I would point out however that this computation is incorrect as from it has been omitted the value of the Trade of Hongkong with native ports in native goods. The total trade of Hongkong with China in 1891 was Taels 126,346,736, and in 1892 Taels 128,973,819.
