The despatches in question had not escaped attention, and I regret that nos 230 and 731 asking for a list of officers entitled to draw leave salary pension at par with the dollar, and a list of officers liable to contribute to the Widows and Orphans' Pension Fund should have remained so long unanswered. The Treasurer, who has been engaged in preparing revised lists, has met with difficulties which have necessitated references to a number of officers, and the lists are still uncompleted.

I trust that it may be found possible to complete and forward them at an early date.
