By Direction to 121 of the 28th April the Secretary informs me that I approve of your proposal that Mr W. Lethbridge, the late Superintendent of the Gold Coast Constabulary, should draw a daily allowance at the rate of 5/- per diem from the 28th September to the 10th January and after that date half the salary of the Superintendent together with half his own salary.

The Secretary of State, by Dispatch No 164 of 19th June, has informed the Governor that he regrets having been unable to comply with your application to be appointed to the post of Superintendent.
2. His Lordship fully recognizes the good service which you have rendered and the ability and zeal which you have shown in the performance of your duties would have afforded him much satisfaction had he found himself in a position to grant your request.
