William Charles Holland Hastings
Entered Her Majesty's Navy 1805, retired with rank of Commander 1881.
Appointed Inspector of Immigrants, Act: 1881 in Jamaica and Deputy Coroner 1886. Appointed Chief of Police and Inspector of Prisons St. Lucia April 1889. Held local appointments of J.P., Harbour Master and Flot.
Appointed Assistant Harbour Master Hong Kong, November 1889, succeeding duly Edward. B. 1890, being also gazetted Acting Harbour Master.
Appointed Acting Harbour Master to Feb 1891, holding the post till the 10th April 1890. Appointed Superintendent Harbour Police 4th June 1891; Member of the Registration Committee November 1891.
Appointed Acting Police Magistrate 1st April 1892 and still acting as such, also discharging duties of substantive office Assistant Harbour Master, Dr. W. Hastings.
