Mr Vairfeld will see that they have allowed this old servant 28 years and 11 months (nearly) to count as 29 years.
I think this is not right, though it would have been reasonable to keep him in the service till the time was completed.
I do not say this but confirm pension notwithstanding, & approve the appointments in consequence, of the retirement which will result.
