An Assistant Apothecary is required for the Government Civil Hospital, Hong Kong. Candidates, who should be unmarried and of an age not exceeding 25 years, must hold the Major diploma and be members of the Pharmaceutical Society and possess testimonials as to ability to manufacture Pharmacopoeial preparations and to conduct analytical work.

The Officer appointed will attend to the general dispensing work of the Hospital, and in the absence of the Apothecary and Analyst, will have sole control of the Hospital Pharmacy, and Government Laboratory. The emoluments are $1440 per annum with free quarters, light and fuel at the Government Civil Hospital. A free passage to the Colony will be granted, and the term of service will be for 3 years with return passage at the end of that period. If the Officer's services are continued after the three years have expired, his emoluments will be raised to $1560 per annum, and he will enjoy the usual privileges of the Hong Kong Government Service but will no longer retain a right to a return passage.
