I am directed by the Secretary of State for War, to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 89862 of the 20th instant stating that it is desired to engage some more men of the Army Reserve, not exceeding eight in all, for the Hong Kong prison service, and asking whether in this and similar cases it would be possible to specially exempt such men from liability to recall to Army Service for at least 3 years.
