his pensionable Emoluments, or $425 per annum, are to be calculated from that date inclusively.

The Crown Agents have been authorized to issue that pension at 4/2 the dollar.

4. The certificate of conduct (Head 10 of the Paper of Particulars) was by inadvertence not filled up in this case, I gather, but it appears from par. 4 of your despatch under acknowledgment that the officer's services were entirely satisfactory. The Head "age" was also filled up, presumably because of Mr. Rogers' absence from the Colony, and I would observe that even when an Officer is retiring on the ground of ill health, his age is a very material consideration, in cases where the certificate of health is not conclusive as to the permanence of incapacity.
