I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to transmit, for the information of Lord Knutsford, a copy of a letter which has been addressed to the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, in regard to the proposed arrangements as to the acquisition and disposal of land and property at Victoria, Hong Kong.

? Inform W.O. & Treasury that his Lordship had not hitherto heard of this agreement between the Governor, G.O.C. & Admiral, but he will refer the proposals to the Governor for his concurrence;
to par. 16 desig... 16717 reply that the mode of retaining the values of these surrendered lands is still under discussion,
that his Lordship has not yet come to any agreement as to the cost of the new Barracks being shared between the Colonial & Imperial funds;
that four only say than office appear & do not express disposed!
