A case similar to the present 1876, when this Hong Kong Goot requested

the intervention of this office with a view to the removal from the Colony of a

lunatic

ramed Sarah Bennett, who was alleged to be a native of Buffalo, State of New York.

but as she appeared to have abandoned the sea since 1863, the U. S. Consul out-Hong Kong refused to send her home at the expense of his Gout, on the ground that she was no longer entitled to the benefits of the Act- " for the relief of destitute American

Seamen.

bring the case to the notice of the U.S.
