I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge the
receipt of your letter of the 11th ultimo, transmitting a
transcript of an Ordinance passed by the Legislature of Hong
Kong to consolidate and amend the law relating to the grant
in that Colony of Letters Patent for Inventions, and, in reply, to state, for the information of Lord Knutsford, that the Board of Trade are of opinion that the Ordinance may properly be
allowed to remain in operation.
