Particulars and Conditions of Service of the Offices, now vacant at the Harbour Department in the Colony of Hong Kong -
Three Lighthouse Keepers for Gap Rock Lighthouse.
1. Duties of Office
To keep regular watch as required to be responsible and qualifications for the good order and condition of the Lighthouse required for their performance. and apparates dwellinghouses & & and to work

Offices of the Eastern Exclension Telegraph Company and until passed they will have to devote the whole of their spells ashore to that end.

To obey orders of their Superiors. They should be trained Light Keepers with not less than 5 years service conversant with revolving lights (but that need not be a sine qua non"). Should have sufficient mechanical experience enable them to meet possible emergencies and should be in good health

They may be required to de duty in Lighthowe Stations belonging to the Government- of Hong Kong.
One Lighthuper at #1.020 per annum.

Each Lightheeper to receive the sum of Twenty pounds (£20) by way of advance on account of Salary, the repayment of which will be within 12 months after arrival in the Colony in equal monthly instalmento
Free Quarters including Fuel and Light. While working the Firen Fog Lignal, 50 cents each per diem.
Subject to the necessities of the service, and weather permitting the Lightkeepers to be relieved

The persons accepting the appointments must bind themselves to serve for Three years.

case of misconduct or drunkenness the Lightkeeper will be liable to dismissal but

other case he will be entitled to three months notice of discharge.
