called the person engaged is hereby appointed a Nurse in the Government Civil Hospital of Hong Kong
upon the following terms and conditions.

The pewson engaged shall as soon as required proceed to Hong Kong and on her arrival there will be placed under the orders of the Superintendent of the Hospital and her duties will consist, among others, of those specified in the annexed paper of particulars. The term of engagement shall be for five years the Government shall have power at any time to terminate it upon giving to the person engaged three months notice in writing or paying her a sum equal to three months salary in lien of such notice and providing her with a free passage home.
The salary to be paid to the person engayud shall be at the rate of Forty dollars ($40) per mensem rising by yearly increments of Ten dollars ($10) per mensem to Sixty dollars ($60) per mensem with furnished quarters board and attendance and uniform. Half salary will from date of leaving England and full salary from the date of arrival in the Colony ..
