of Mr. Chapman as Steward of the Civil Hospital and Lunatic Asylum
With
reference to
the first paragraph of Your Lordship's despatch I have to state that the appointment from which~
is not one
the perquisites of free light and fuel should be withdrawn; and in regard to paragraph 3 that the duties of Clerk at the Lock Hospital have been
undertaken
undertaken by the Clerk to the Civil Hospital at a
monthly
remuneration of $10, the remaining $5 being drawn by M. Chapman for
performing Steward,

to

Mr. Chapman is
the gentleman who resigned the post of Senior Wardmaster of the Civil Hospital in 1890.
