with reference to Mr Wingfields letter of the 18th
instant, I am directed by the Board of Trade to state for the information of Lord Knutsford, that Willian Mann
formerly of the Spanish vessel Anna not having served
afloat within six months of the date upon which he was
taken in charge by the Harbour Master at Hong Kong, vas
disentitled to relief as a Seaman at the charge of this
Department.
A direction upon this point is embodied in the
Instructions issued by the Board of Trade Officers in
British Possessions Abroad with regard to the relief of
Seamen.
