The Government shall have power, at any Sne terminate this Agreement upon giving to the peris engaged three months notice in writing
or pay him a sum equal to three months salary in t of such notice.
6. A free first class passage shall be provided for person engaged to Hong Kong and on the expiration of his term of engagement or if this Agreement be terminated by the Government, under the precede Clause the Government shall provide the person engu with a pee first class passage to England provid his conduct shall have been satisfactory during _service and shall also pay to him half salary du the time occupied on the voyage home and in event of his being compelled at any time during. period of Three, years to resign his appointment return to England on account of illness not caw by any impropriety of conduct on his part and prodier -Certificate from the Colonial Surgeon to that if he shall be provided with a free first class pass to England but if he should resign his appoint from any other cause he shall refund to the Gover or to the Crown Agents for the Colonies the amoun"} for his passage to the Colony. The return passo must in all cases be claimed within two mont the expiration or sooner determination of this Agree 7. If the person engaged shall at any time negl or refuse or pom any cause (other than illnews. caused by his own,

shall correspond verbally or otherwise directly indirectly in or about the affairs of the Government with any person not in the employment of the Government or shall publish directly or indirectly any document or information of any kind whatever affecting the Government or shall in any manner misconduct himself it shall be competent for the Government ( to declure his employment at an end and he shall be forthwith dismissed by the Government and all right benefits and advantages reserved to him by this Agreement shall cease and he shall be liable to be called upon to repay the amount paid for his passage to the Colony.

The person engaged agrees to make no claim upon the Government or on the Crown Agents for the Colonies in respect of the fluctuations in the value of the dollar. For the purpose of payment in this County of leave salary the dollar shall be reckoned at the exchange of Four shillings (4)) and for pensions at Three shillings and rightpence (357)
9. The said Crown Agents for the Colonies shall not be
personally liable for anything contained in this Agreement. Witness our hands the day and year first above written
