day of February One thousand eight hundred and ninely one Between The Undersigned One of the Crown Agents for the Colonies of Downing Sheet Westminster in the County of Middlesex acting for and on behalf of The Government of Hong Kong (hereinafter called the Government) of the one
part and David Wood of q. Chattan Place, Aberdeen in the County of Aberdeen of the other part.
Whereby it is agreed by and between the
parties heret as follows : -
1. The said David Wood (hereinafter called the
person engaged) is hereby appointed an Accountant in the Public Works Department of the Colony of Hong Kong
2.
The period of service shall be for Three years commencing from the date of arrival in Hong Kong and he will be placed under the orders of the Surveyor General of the Public Works Department until the completion of his engagement and he shall not either directly or indirectly engage or be concerned in any other service a business whatsoever a receive commissions of any kind but shall devote the whole of his time and attention to the service of the Government and shall use his utmost exertions to promote the interests of the Government.

3. The chief declics of the person engaged shall be to supervise the General and Shires Accounts of the Public Works Department and all other duties which be directed to perform by the Surveyor General.
