In view of the large amount of fees received by the Deputy Registrar in 1875, I would submit for Your Lordship's

consideration whether the

these offices

salaries of these

should

not be estimated, for

the

their

purposes of calculating increases under the general

scheme, at £500 (or $2400) a _

year.

An increase of 35% on

this would

give

$3240 which

does not appear excessive

for

posts of the importance that

these

these are.

I would point out that the salary of the Deputy Land Officer

has been raised to $3720, and

as it seems desirable that all

three offices should be on an equal footing I suggest an increase of $120 in the event of Your Lordship approving of the increases to the Deputy Registrars.

As the personal allowance which the Deputy Registrars enjoy
