Crown Lessee of Inland Lot No. 671.

I hereby on behalf of His Excellency the Acting Governor give you notice that the portion tinted yellow in the enclosed tracing of your Inland Lot No. 671 and containing 9,150 square feet, is required by the Colonial Government for the improvement of the Colony and I therefore call on you to peaceably and quietly deliver up possession thereof on the expiration of three Calendar months from the date hereof in conformity with the covenants and stipulations in the Crown Lease under which you now hold the said Lot No. 671.

And I hereby give you further notice that I have fairly and impartially valued the said Lot at the sum of three thousand six hundred and sixty dollars ($3,660,00) to be paid by the Government as a full and fair compensation for the same, on such delivery up as aforesaid based on the rate of forty cents (40 cts.) per square foot.

In answer to your letter of the 13th instant, I beg to state that

I consider your valuation of my Inland Lot No. 671 inadequate, and that I decline to accept the same, and hereby protest against its appropriation by the Government for such consideration.

In reply to your letter of the 11th instant, I am directed by His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government to inform you that it is absolutely necessary for Public purposes that the rear portion of your Inland Lot No. 671 should be resumed by the Government in conformity with the covenants of your Lease.
