the amount of the fees or remit them altogether.
The Registrar General reports that the fee for a Special Licence viz: $25 has in several cases been
reduced to $2, but that in no single instance within his recollection
has application been made for reduction or remission
of the fee for an ordinary licence.
No change is
therefore
necessary in this direction.

That any other case has arisen besides the one mentioned in Mr. Fleming's despatch W.403 of the 8th of November last, in which the want has been felt of a provision for Civil marriage before "the Registrar of persons who are not Christians.
