The Companies would be prepared to supply and lay on behalf of the Hongkong Government a cable 33 knots in length between Gap Rock Lighthouse and Hongkong and would recommend type B (7/ton cables) being used throughout as most suitable, having regard to the shallow water, anchorage risks, etc. The Companies have not sufficient cable in stock to send it out from England.
