(I am not quite sure whether the $4411 referred to was part of the 1885 "urgent war preparations" see 7272/91 Major Craig to R.E. or not - I cannot possibly say whether it arises out of the scheme for fortifications. I fancy some changes in the care rights over the land taken for Belcher's Point Battery. This land was, I think, Colonial property, nothing was paid for it, but it is possible that riparian rights or firing rights...
