It is satisfactory to note the advancement in the trade of the Colony shewn by the large total tonnage of vessels that arrived at and sailed from this Port during the past year.
The circumstances referred to in paragraph 8 formed the subject of Mr Fleming's despatch N. 207 of 29th July, 1890. There would scarcely seem to be necessity for adopting the recommendation contained in paragraph 10, although energetic action on the report by telegraph from the out-stations of any violation of the waters of the Colony should not be delayed.
The question referred to in the latter portion of paragraph 27 is receiving my attention.
