occupied as private apartments by M. Lister was devoted to this purpose. Additional room was also required owing to the extra work thrown on the Treasury in connection with the new system of audit.

Mr Lister, it should be mentioned, had no separate office as Treasurer, but did his Treasury work in his office in the Postal Department.

There remained therefore but one room over the Post Office unoccupied by the Treasury, and this has been disposed of by the following arrangement which I trust will meet with Your Lordship's approval.

4. In lieu of the quarters over the Post Office, an allowance of $70 a month has been made to Mr. Travers, this being the value as a family residence
