remit any part of the Fund to England for investment
as directed.
A distinct undertaking has been given to the Lotholders that such
interest
as
the Banks
may
allow on the sums
deposited
on their behalf by Government, will be
carried to their credit, and expended hereafter on the works in front of their lots, thus reducing the
cost
of such works by the amount of the interest.

cost of such works by the amount of the interest.
The rate of interest
granted by the Banks here is as Your Lordship
aware
is
13
higher than the rate obtainable at home, and I
feel confident that the Lotholders would have the
strongest objection to the proposed by Your Lordship, which as I have stated above the Government
cannot take without their
permission.
