It appears
that in a
scale issued on 2nd
October last, published in Gazette of 11th Oct, this fee was fixed at $7.50, but that
it was reduced &
revised to $2.50 in the scale
issued a few days
later, which is now
in force.
I am still of opinion that $2.50 is a sufficiently high fee,
and it seems unnecessary to again amend the scale
so
shortly after its
recent revision.

The Deficit
A new post office is badly wanted, but I understand there is not enough money to build it at present.

The deficit is rather larger than last year.
