The Colonial Treasurer has had under his consideration the question of the supply of subsidiary coins for the current year, and, in view of the steadily increasing demand for them, Mr Mitchell-Innes is of the opinion (in which I concur) that it would be well to increase to $1,500,000 the nominal value of those to be obtained this year.

In place therefore of the existing arrangements detailed in Your Lordship's despatch No. 79 of the 30th of April last, by which coins of the nominal value of $1,000,000 would be supplied in the following consignments:-
