It is the intention that the newly constructed hospital hulk (the launching of which I may mention that I had recently the pleasure of assisting) should be used as a combined Epidemic and Quarantine Hospital.

Ships which it may be necessary to place in quarantine will have their sick removed to the hulk and will remain in quarantine three days after the removal of the last sick case, during which period they will be thoroughly disinfected.

It is not intended to make use of any matshed accommodation on shore except in the event of a severe epidemic such as would render insufficient the available space
