that my attention has been drawn to the fact that by an oversight the salary of the Assistant Inspector of Junks is quoted at $888 per annum instead of at $1064 to which sum it was recommended to be raised by the Select Committee appointed to examine into the details of the Estimates for 1891, in accordance with the instructions contained in Your Lordship's despatch No. 203 of the 20th September regarding the assessment of the value of quarters.

2. The salary of the Indian Interpreter has not been increased since 1875, and the same man holds the appointment now as then. This officer would therefore appear entitled to an increase of $84 a year.
