To inspect any
Cattle suspected of being diseased and to enforce the laws of the Colony dealing with diseased animals.

To take charge of the public depôts for cattle, sheep, and swine and to enforce the bye-laws regulating the same.

To take charge of the public Slaughter-houses, and enforce the bye-laws regulating the same.
F.
To examine dead meat and fish suspected of being unwholesome and give evidence regarding the same in the Law Courts.
G.
To take charge of the public food markets and enforce the bye-laws regulating the same.

I have had a period of over six years' experience as a Veterinary Surgeon, and it may fairly be inferred from the recommendation of the Sanitary Board that I have performed the duties of my office to their satisfaction.
