93
: the despatch Lord Kimberley sanctioned the grant of a piece of land at Pokfulum to the French Missions, the term of the lease seems to have been mentioned by inadvertence as 99 instead of 999 years.
A reference to Sir Arthur Kennedy's despatch Rep N1: 193 of 1873 will show that it was originally recommended that the lease should be extended to the same period as that allowed in the case of allotments in the city.
The term of all leases in the city of Victoria is 999 years, and a lease was accordingly granted.
I have the honour to be,
My Lord,
Most Obedient
Your Lordship's Most Humble Servant,
Gunder Valer
