2. Having considered the Report of the Committee on this question and your recommendations as contained in your desp. No 389 of 23 Dec last, Lord Knutsford has addressed a Despatch to the O. A. G. on the subject of which a Copy is enclosed for your information.
Having considered the emoluments of the Governor of Hong Kong (including table allowance), it is decided that they should be raised from $28,500 to $32,000 per year; but when on half pay, he should not draw more than $12,500.
