If a comparison with other salaries at Hongkong is made:
The Treasurer gets £7500.
I think the Local Auditor should get £4000.
We don't know actual salaries till recently.
The Extrinater (the lowest paid of the Heads of departments) is to get £4000, and the Assistant Col. Sec., and Ass. Registrar General will (from 1st proxime) get £4500; but at Gold Coast the senior Local Auditor gets less than the 2nd Assistant Col. Sec., & I think Mr. Nicolle at Hongkong may fairly draw less than the Assistant Col. Sec.
Regarding the Auditor's pay,
If Reply to the above effect, rest of the opinion is enough.
