expenditure on table works and it appears to the Comptroller and Auditor General that it would not be unreasonable bearing in mind the high rate of living in Hong Kong as well as in view of the reduction of the Clerical Staff, to increase the Salary of the present local Auditor of $4500 per annum He would therefore propose for the consideration of the Secretary of State to the sum above mentioned.
