In pursuance of letters from the Colonial Office dated 19th ultimo and 10th instant the Comptroller and Auditor General has had before him the correspondence and evidence received from the Administrator of Hong Kong,
in connection with the recent defalcations in the Postmaster General's Department, which formed the subject of a letter from this Office dated 14 July last (No. 843) and I am directed to return the original inclosures which were forwarded for inspection viz.:
1. The printed proceedings of the Supreme Court, the trial of Mr. Z. Barradas
2. A confidential Report of Messrs Ackroyd and Nicolle, dated 29th May 1890, upon the defalcations, with three enclosures
3. The five enclosures to Administrator Fleming's Despatch of 20th August 1890
