Ordnance Survey Office

Southampton Septr 25th 1890

My Dear Sir,

I have to refer to my minute of the 20th inst. regarding the men mentioned in my report on the Hong Kong Survey carried out by Mr. Jary. It would have been better if two trained Surveyors had been sent from England as there are none in the Nr. Company in the Colony. In that case Labourers would have to be imported.

It is a bad draft. I think not positively from Lieut. C. Wason.

I fear it is too late to make changes this year. The frontier ought to be fixed this month at latest (see 1376).

I have forwarded your questions to him.

Waithliff,

Is it necessary to address the Governor-in-Council?
