REC2
[P-2 11 JUN 20]
I am directed by the Comptroller and Auditor General to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 2nd instant enclosing a copy of Despatch from the Administrator of the Government at Hong Kong, upon the new system of Audit. Mr. Fleming observes that, in the Crown Agents Accounts recently received, an Item of £151 appears as to the Exchequer and Audit Department account of Audit Expenses in England, and he is anxious for explanation how this sum is made up.
In reply to this enquiry you are referred to the letter from this Department of 22 November 1889, and to the Memorandum which it forwarded, upon the proposed method of providing and accounting for the Funds required for expenses of Audit in certain Colonies, which has been received.
The Hon. R. A. Mrade C.B.
