I received this information with satisfaction,
and I at once communicated with the Comptroller & Auditor General, who will shortly select a Local Auditor, to proceed to the Colony as soon as possible.
In the meantime the Comptroller and Auditor General has suggested that the preparation of the Colonial accounts should at once be transferred from the local audit office to the Treasurer as from the last instant. It is, of course, indispensable that the Treasurer should undertake the complete and exclusive charge of the preparation of the accounts.
