I beg respectfully to make application for the appointment of Senior Marine Surveyor at Hong Kong and to state that previous to joining the Board's Service I have had about 22 years' experience as an Engineer, the last 13 of which were at Sea principally in the tropics, during part of that time I was Chief Engineer and hold a first-class certificate of Competency.

The last six and a half years I have been in the service of the Board as Shipwright and Engineer Surveyor, also Examiner of Engineers at this port, during this time I have been employed in all the various branches of work performed by the Board's Surveyors.
