relative to the contribution from Naval Funds to the Lock Hospital at Hongkong

I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that the amount shown in the Naval Estimates is the extreme limit, but the actual sum to be expended

is dependent on circumstances. In this

case, notice was given so far back as July last of the intention to reduce the contribution from £250 to £100 a year, from the 1st January 1891, and My Lords must adhere to that decision.
